22 December: END OF X-MAS TOUR w/ THE POGUES
Apologies for the lack of activity on this news page over the last few weeks - it's been a bit of a hectic time!
So tonight is the last show of the X-Mas tour with THE POGUES. What an amazing experience we've had - I don't think there will be a dry eye in the Voodoo camp tonight in Dublin. Watch the blog pages for the fuller story!

20 November: POGUES X-MAS TOUR UPDATE
Not long to go now! We're very excited...are you?
Just to let you know that The Urban Voodoo Machine will not be performing at the Manchester show on Sat 13th Dec. There was only room for one opening act and the promoter wanted The Stranglers on the bill - so we hope you enjoy that. If you're in the Manchester area and were looking forward to seeing the U.V.M. with The Pogues - the next closest show is Leeds on Tues 9th * This is an early show with a curfew of 10pm See you on the road!

08 November 2008: dj SCRATCHY JOINING US ON POGUES X-MAS TOUR
We're glad to announce that our mate, sometimes UVM guitarist and Gypsy Hotel resident DJ - SCRATCHY, will once again be tour DJ for The Pogues this Xmas.
Scratchy has toured with the best, from the Clash to Joe Strummer's Mescaleros, the Dead Brothers to Gogol Bordello and, of course, The Urban Voodoo Machine. Check out his website for more info ->

04 November 2008: SHUNT UPDATE
We've checked our schedules and the only available date this year we could do another show at SHUNT would be this Sunday. Unfortunately that wouldn't leave enough lead up time to properly promote the show. So we're now aiming to re-schedule for a date early in 2009.
Refunds are available on 2nd November tickets.

01 November 2008: **URGENT UPDATE** SHUNT GIG POSTPONED
**TOMORROW'S SHOW (SUN 2nd NOV) AT SHUNT, LONDON BRIDGE HAS BEEN POSTPONED**
Hey Brothers & Sisters, we apologise to anyone who was intending to attend or has already bought tickets. The situation is completely out of our hands - we've only found out in the last few minutes that the venue has been told to close it's doors untill next Thursday to comply with a licensing issue...!
The show will be re-scheduled for a couple of weeks time (depending on everyone's availability), check back HERE for an announcement on exact date, over the next day or two. Tickets for NOV 2nd will be valid, alternatively full refunds will be available on unused NOV 2nd tickets.

20 October 2008: GYPSY HOTEL/STRANGER THAN PARADISE HALLOWEEN PARTY
WE had a great time at Saturday night's GYPSY HOTEL 2nd Birthday - hope you did too, if you were there. A big thanks to everybody who came down and packed the place out again, particularly all the people who travelled from distant lands to be there with us! Also a huge thanks to the 50+ performers, staff and crew who worked a VERY long day. Don't forget as always...send in any pics you might have from the night, we'd love to see them & put them up here to share with people.
Didn't get enough on Saturday? Couldn't make it along?...well fear not, as GYPSY HOTEL is back this weekend! Joining forces once again with STRANGER THAN PARADISE for a Halloween special at The Miller, London Bridge, SAT 25th 7PM - 7AM!!! Early arrival is advised for this one too as we expect it to get very busy.

14 October 2008: UVM TO PLAY PARIS AGAIN
Our favourite Parisian, MISS LA LA MORTE has kindly invited us back to play in Paris once again on SAT 29th NOV. We always have a lot of fun in Paris, but this show promises to be extra special with Mister VIC RUGGIERO from The SLACKERS sharing the bill with us. Details on GIGS page...DJ's playing ALL NIGHT untill people can't dance any more!

10 October 2008: GYPSY HOTEL 2nd ANNIVERSAY
THE URBAN VOODOO MACHINE play the GYPSY HOTEL 2nd anniversary show next week - SAT 18th OCT. It's a huge line-up, so it will be starting early and finishing LATE! Doors are at 6pm - arriving early is advised...once we're full, we're full!!

06 October 2008: BACK FROM PORTUGAL
Well we survived Portugal...just about. Many thanks to the festival organisers, everyone who helped us out and of course all the people who came out for the show and danced 'till very, very late!
We had a great time and hope to see you all back in Porto again very soon.

02 October 2008: X-MAS TOUR WITH THE POGUES!!!
We have the immense pleasure of announcing that THE POGUES have invited us to open for them throughout their X-Mas 2008, UK & Ireland tour. How excited are we!!?!!
We did a couple of shows with them in Washington DC, earlier this year. If those were anything to judge by, the X-Mas tour is going to be VERY special!

01 October 2008: BACK FROM IRELAND
A bit of a rollercoaster ride around Ireland, but all the shows were a blast and we all survived to tell the many, many tales!
It was great meeting up with the Mighty Stef again in Cork & Dublin. The people of Derry as always went above and beyond all expectation to take care of us and to make it a memorable show. Belfast was really incredible though - our first show in that city and it was sold out within about half an hour of doors opening! An amazing GYPSY HOTEL night was had by all present.
Roll on Portugal this weekend!

24 Sept 2008: WEBSITE LIVE!!
OK it's about time that this site goes live. There's still quite a bit of work to be completed on it, but I'll carry on with that over the next few weeks - feedback and comments welcome!
We're off to do some shows in Ireland now, we'll be announcing some special news here on Monday...or Tuesday depending on how tired we are after Ireland! Check back often and also subscribe to our BLOG to keep up with P-R's words of wisdom and enlightenment.

09 Sept 2008: BACK FROM BESTIVAL
Great fun was had by all in the Club DaDa tent at BESTIVAL over the weekend! It was a complete muddy swamp, but it was Sunday and people were past caring! The rain had actually stopped by then too, which helped...slightly!
Anybody catch the impromptu acoustic show on their way off the island? With the UVM + Hula Hoopers in the Fishbourne Ferry Port car park, about 1.30am? Send us your pics/vids if you did...what a laugh!!!

We've been added to the line-up of this years BESTIVAL on the Isle of Wight, Sun 7th Sept. CLUB DADA Stage 8:30pm ... an early one for us. These days we seem to be rarely onstage before midnight! Should be fun though!
